Gelato Roma mobile - Marlborough

I'm Cristina and I’m in love with gelato! And it’s because of two simple reasons:

- I am from Bologna, the gelato capital of Italy

​

- It tastes great when it’s made the traditional way!

​

After my degree in food and plant science, I left behind my old world in Italy and moved to beautiful New Zealand for love.

​

This country gave me everything I needed, but there was always something missing… until I found Gelato Roma.

​

This delicious, artisan gelato tastes like home for me. It has also helped make my goal clear – to bring traditional Italian flavours to all Kiwis in their everyday life. And for those reasons, I will never let Gelato Roma go!

​

​Simon (my husband) works alongside me and he’s a real Kiwi character.

​

In the last five years, our presence at Blenheim Farmers Market means we’ve got to meet everyone in the community and learn about their tastes. We’re now getting ready for another great summer season.

​

From November, we’ll be up and running with our new food cart.

​

We’ll start the season with a fixed spot on Dodson Street in Blenheim. Working in collaboration with award-winning brewery Renaissance, you’ll find us based at their new cellar door along with Peter the Swiss butcher and D'Vine Italian pizza. Come down for a bite to eat and the chance to experience great food and the passion behind Renaissance.

As the season warms up, we’ll also be getting involved with local festivals and events, offering new gelato and sorbet flavours, as well at the usual favourites.   

​

And if you want the authentic taste of Italy at your next private party, wedding, business event or cooking course, give us a call. We can even provide a double dose of the Italian experience with our Gelato Roma truck as well as woodfired pizzas.
